Happy Wednesday,
I don’t have a ton in book news, but I’ll share what I do have in a moment. Before then, a little about what else is going on.
During Christmas break, I auditioned for Little Women at my church. I had the pleasure of playing Jo in high school, and while I knew I was too old to play Jo this time, I was hoping for Marmee or Aunt Josephine. I didn’t get either part, and while I was disappointed, I think it might have been God watching out for me because I have so much going on right now. I did get cast as both Mrs. Moffet and Mrs. Kirke so that will be fun. I get to play two very different types of characters.
Tomorrow, I’ll be helping our theater teacher with auditions for Lion King. I wasn’t sure my own kids were going to audition, but I finally convinced them. Then, in February, she’ll be doing Frozen and there might be a few adult parts in there which will be fun.
Until then, I’ll be busy with speech and debate. We had a great tournament in December. My son placed 5th in Apologetics. I had two kids place in the top three in open interp, a first place in Monologue, a tie for second in Persuasive, and a second place in Impromptu. I am so proud of these kids. We have ten on the team this year which is amazing…. But also means that a hotel is pretty much out and we’ll need to rent a house when we go to Regionals, so we are fundraising again. I know most of you aren’t local, but we are hosting a Pancake breakfast at our local Applebee’s on the 25th. Tickets are just $10.00 and if you can’t come, but you’d like to donate a ticket, we can do that as well. You can reply to this email for more information.
Our next tournament is next week, which also happens to be the high school play performance date and my oldest son’s theatrical debut, so I’m excited about that.
Okay, now for the book news. I’m putting Beneath the Surface at .99 cents for a limited time for a promotion, so if you aren’t sure if you like psychological thrillers or if you were just waiting for the sale, then now is your chance. It will be on sale for just five days only, so grab it while you can.

Everyone in True Love finds their true love.
At least that’s what they say…
Ella Bristow desperately wants to get married and have a family. Her father wants that for her too—and won't let her forget it. When he comes to True Love for the holiday, she knows he's going to pester her about it.
Kellan Nichol is new to town. He's ready to grow roots close to his brother, start his dream job at the True Love Fire Department, and raise his daughter in a close-knit community. The only thing missing is love. His brother has plenty of blind dates to set him up on, but that's just not Kellan's thing.
After literally falling into Kellan's arms, Ella devises a plan to keep their family members off their backs for the holiday: They can "pair up" for Christmas! It's not fake dating, just getting to know each other so everyone will leave them alone. Her strict "no romance at Christmas" policy means nothing more can come of it.
But as the days pass and the two grow closer together, they both realize there's something there. Something special, a spark to a fire Kellan would never want to put out. Can these two work past the obstacles and stoke the flames of their new romance?

Where are you, John?
This question has run on a loop in Kate’s mind ever since John, a fellow CIA officer and the man she loves, stopped checking in with his team. He’s been working deep cover with the Sanguinario cartel in Sinaloa, Mexico, and has never missed a check-in until six days, eight hours, and thirty minutes ago.
Where are you, John?
Kate and her team need to find John and extract him, but is there a bigger play in motion? One that could bring a big win for the agency . . . or backfire and put them all in the hands of the cartel whose name means “bloodthirsty.”
Where are you, John?
Are you still alive?
